I’ve worked in project management in various industries for almost 10 years. 

After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in psychology (fight on!), I worked in a child development research lab with the USC Law School. Within a year, I was managing the lab with its 15-20 undergraduate research assistants, 3 full-time staff members, and 6-8 concurrent research projects (whew!). 

Our work inspired me to get a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW). During my first-year internship, I became frustrated by the lack of interest in improving programs, so I decided I wanted to be in a position where I could make that standard practice. I focused on community organizing, planning, and administration during the rest of the program. 

After graduating with my MSW, I worked in the nonprofit healthcare industry, first in quality improvement and then in health education and wellness. I was able to do some wonderful work during that time. A few accomplishments I’m particularly proud of: executing a direct-mail program of at-home colon cancer screening kits, launching online diabetes education programs, implementing an annual, company-wide breast cancer screening awareness campaign, and managing a community health worker program. I also completed a green belt certification in Lean and Six Sigma methodology.  

Searching for my next step, I found that the skills I’d developed during my career plus my natural desire to make order out of chaos filled a need for online business owners. I now help them spend less time drowning in operations and more time being visionaries and strategists in their business.
